Puerto Madryn’s new Bus Station opened in October 2000. It is managed by the Administration Council, composed of three members, each one of them representative of a different institution. Present regular authorities are the President, Ing. Roberto Pereiro, Mrs. Silvia Bazterrica and Mr.Roberto Flores.
It is a Non-State Public Institution with the following objectives:
... 01. To be a logistic and service center for passengers, transport, luggage, mail and cargo.
... 02. To be a tourist and commercial service center.
... 03. To be an operatively and economically autonomous institution that finances its own administration, operations and investments.
Daily administration is in charge of a Manager named by the Administration Council. Present Manager is CPA Mauricio Lago.
Besides, there are nine employees in charge of administrative, caretaker and professional assistance tasks.
Incomes come from a variety of sources such as rent of transport offices, commerce and shop spaces, expenses, advertisement, tourist buses parking, etc.
Everyday, an average of 70 long distance buses and 40 short and middle distance buses arrive to our station. On high season, there are records of 180 arrivals per day. Around 2.5 million people visit our Bus Station every year
There are 17 box offices of different passengers and goods transport companies and 16 shops where restaurant, telephone and internet center, tourist agencies and much more services are offered.
Since January 2007 we are working on the enlargement of our Bus Station in order to give an adequate answer to the requirements of our increasing number of users.
